The Inspiration

We know that the global textile industry is responsible for 10% of the World’s Total Carbon Impact.  It’s second to agriculture in water usage and it’s the second most toxic process in the world second to the petroleum industry.  Fifteen million tons of used textile waste is generated each year in the United States, and the amount has doubled over the last 20 years. Sixty-one percent of re-useable and recyclable textiles are exported to other countries. This fact indicates that textile recycling industry in the United States has enormous potential to expand, given that 85% of used textiles still go to national landfills.

How Does It Work?

Company X has PERSONA, LLC., manufacture their 1st collection. Company X has chosen PERSONA, LLC., not only for ECM’s (EcoCulture Manufacturing, Corp.) award winning “sustainable business model” but also for our EcoSustineri RFID Technology.  This technology allows Company X’s customer to engage with the garment or accessory.  And that includes the return and disposal of the garment to PERSONA, LLC., where it is recycled or upcycled into a second collection of Company X.  Imagine this cycle repeated into a 3rd collection for Company X.  Company X now has a 100% upcycled collection manufactured by PERSONA, LLC., in addition to 100% landfill diversion, Company X creates brand integrity, and WE ALL have a product that is good for the planet.

Prairie Pothole Avoided Grassland Conversion

Spanning much of North Dakota, as well as parts of Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Montana, the unique Prairie Pothole Region (PPR) landscape, known for its diverse wetlands and large areas of native prairie, provides critical habitat for many of the nation’s migratory birds, including grassland birds. Maintaining wetlands and grasslands in the region provide diverse benefits, including water quality protection, potential flood reduction, carbon sequestration and enhanced wetland and wildlife habitat.
